CERTIFIED ACTIVE STEWARDSHIP
Hacemos Kitetrips
Hacemos Kitetrips creates fully organized kitesurfing adventures that combine progression, exploration, community, and wellness across some of the world’s most unique destinations—from the shores of Colombia and Brazil to Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Going far beyond the typical kite holiday, Hacemos connects riders with remote spots and local cultures, serving as a mobile hub for coastal conservation that turns passionate travelers into active stewards of the ocean.
As an OceanPulse Certified Partner, Ali and the Hacemos team integrate ocean protection directly into every global itinerary. By championing a zero-avoidable-plastic policy and promoting responsible waste management even in the most remote locations, delivering Eco Talks to their community of kite travelers, and co-organizing beach clean-ups with local partners at every destination, they take direct, measurable action to preserve the pristine environments they visit and protect marine ecosystems worldwide.

"In 2-3 sentences, what makes your kitetrip experience so special?"
“We’re nothing like your typical kitesurfing holiday. At Hacemos Kitetrips, we create adventures: exploring remote spots, riding epic downwinders, and connecting with local cultures along the way. Wellness is at the heart of every adventure, with fresh local food and yoga practices that help riders make the most of their time on and off the water.”
"Why do you care so deeply about the ocean and the environments you visit?"
“As a kite nomad following the wind around the world, I have witnessed so much plastic pollution on the beach, even in the most remote and seemingly untouched places. I just can’t imagine not doing anything about it. The ocean is our playground as kitesurfers, and we can’t take from it without giving back.”
"Why did you decide to join the movement and become an OceanPulse Certified Partner?"
“Before founding Hacemos Kitetrips, I spent 10 years working in social entrepreneurship, including co-managing a startup that organized cleanups around the world. Environmental issues, and especially plastic pollution, have always been close to my heart, so joining OceanPulse felt like a natural step. I truly believe that the more businesses, communities, and individuals join the movement, the greater the impact we can create together. I’m proud to use our adventures not only to explore the ocean, but also to help protect it.”
"What specific actions are you taking during your kitetrips to protect our global playground?"
“We co-organize cleanups with our local partners in our different kitetrip destinations, promote a zero-waste policy during our trips, and raise awareness amongst our kite travelers community with eco talks and the possibility to join the OceanPulse movement.”
"If you could describe the ocean in just ONE word, what would it be?"
“Power”
"What is your best piece of advice for another watersport business thinking about joining the movement?"
“Start today. Even with the smallest action, but just start. Pick up a few pieces of trash on the beach, talk to your friends about ocean protection, post some pictures on social media, join a local initiative… It doesn’t matter how big or small the action is. What matters is taking the first step. Real change starts with people who care enough to do something.”
Our Roadmap: Building the System
We are actively moving from regional impact to global standards. Here is what we are building next:
Scaling the Hubs
Expanding the Mobilization Network. We are continuously validating our community model, expanding our data-driven clean-ups to new coastal hotspots, and partnering with local NGOs to lay the groundwork for permanent, local infrastructure.
The OceanPulse Standard
Developing the Certification. We are piloting a verified certification model that creates a circular economy for coastal protection. The ultimate goal: Establish a protocol where partner hotels and watersport centers contribute a fraction of their revenue directly to local waste management infrastructure.
